High Power Single Mode 1550 nm Laser — Pulse

The HPPL delivers eye-safe, high-power nanosecond pulses at 1550 nm with up to 10 W of average output power and near-diffraction-limited single-mode beam quality. The architecture integrates a seed DFB laser driven by a specialized pulse circuit, followed by an all-fiber Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA). Utilizing double-cladding fiber pumping technology, it efficiently converts multimode pump power into coherent single-mode output. To preserve true single-mode performance, a small fiber core is used; consequently, peak and average power are proportionally reduced when pulse widths shorter (<4 ns) which nonlinear effects (such as SPM and SBS) become prominent. Available as standalone OEM modules or turn-key benchtop units, the HPPL features active feedback power stabilization, integrated power supplies, and optional high-power optical isolators for back-reflection protection. A front-panel SMA TTL input enables external triggering, where the output pulse width and repetition rate follow the incoming control signal. Custom configurations — including collimated output beams and wavelength stabilization — are also available to meet demanding operational environments.
Warning: The standard connector is intended for low-power testing below 1 W. Operating at higher power levels may cause damage to the connector and the laser core. For high-power applications, cutting off the connector and splicing is recommended. We also offer connectors capable of handling up to 10 W, available by special order.
