Customized DCF Dispersion Compensation Module

Chromatic dispersion accumulates in optical fiber, broadening signal pulses and degrading link performance. A proven, cost-effective solution is incorporating a dispersion-compensating fiber (DCF) module engineered with targeted positive or negative chromatic dispersion. We supply standard DCF spools configured to compensate for 10 to 120 km spans of G.652 single-mode fiber in the C-band (1528–1568 nm). Custom spool lengths and precision in-house chromatic dispersion testing services are readily available using our automated winding systems. Operating entirely passively, our DCF modules seamlessly integrate into SDH/SONET, DWDM, and CATV networks. We also produce custom precision-wound delay and sensing coils for SATCOM, aerospace/defense, laser mode-scrambling, and radar calibration. Packaging formats include open spools, protective cassettes, and 1RU rackmount plug-in trays. The standard DCF is negative designed for SM28 fiber.
