PM Fiber Couplers

We offer a comprehensive range of polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber optic couplers and splitters, designed using three fabrication methods: fusion, micro-optics, and waveguide (PLC).

  • Fusion Couplers: These provide the lowest loss (0.3 dB) and the highest optical power handling, with a wavelength bandwidth of ±40 nm.
  • Micro-Optic Couplers: These address the limitations of fused couplers, offering an ultra-broad wavelength bandwidth (±200 nm), a high polarization extinction ratio (>30 dB), and excellent temperature stability. The micro-optic platform also allows for the integration of filters and polarizers in a cost-effective manner.
  • Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) Couplers: PLC couplers are compact, supporting a high fiber port count, broad wavelength bandwidth (±200 nm), and lower costs. However, they have higher fiber coupling loss and lower optical power handling due to the use of organic epoxy in the light path.
Our premium-grade couplers and splitters are compatible with a variety of fiber types, including single-mode (SM), multimode (MM), polarization-maintaining (PM), and double-clad (DC) fibers. They cover a wide wavelength range from 400 nm to 2000 nm, handle optical power up to 100 W, and operate at temperatures up to 300°C. Additionally, we offer couplers/splitters with electrically variable ratios.

We also maintain an in-house production facility to meet “Made-in-USA” requirements.
